Donald Trump Announces Launch of Gold Card Program

September 22, 2025

On September 19, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump officially announced the launch of the new Gold Card program, which is intended to open up access to the U.S. for particularly wealthy immigrants.

Permanent residence for USD 1 million

With the Trump Gold Card, foreigners can purchase permanent residence in the United States for USD 1 million. The card incorporates elements of the well-known Green Card, allowing holders to apply for U.S. citizenship after a certain period of time.

It is now possible to apply for the Trump Gold Card directly via the official website. However, we strongly advise against submitting an application without expert legal assistance, as the process is complex and involves high financial risks. Our U.S. attorneys will be happy to assist you and guide you safely and efficiently through all steps of the application process.

Opportunities for companies with the Trump Corporate Gold Card

Companies can also benefit: for USD 2 million per person, it is possible to use the Trump Corporate Gold Card to bring employees to the U.S. The right of residence can be transferred to other employees, but only for an additional transfer fee and after re-examination by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Limited quota for Trump Card

According to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, 80,000 cards will initially be issued. President Trump wants to monitor the program and review whether prices and the model need to be adjusted at a later date.

Planned Trump Platinum Card for tax exemption

In addition to the Gold Card, the government is also planning a Trump Platinum Card. It will cost USD 5 million and allow holders to stay for up to 270 days per year – combined with tax exemption for income outside the U.S. Unlike the Gold Card, however, this card does not provide a path to citizenship.

We have summarized all the information available so far about the Trump Card here.
